Super Sailor Jupiter from Sailor Moon
Completed: 100%
Cost: $170
Hours to Make: ~5
First worn at: Katsucon 2015
Inspiration: Sailor Moon was the first anime I remember being obsessed with. I watched it all through middle school, and into high school until they pulled it off the air. After that it would still be a while until I attended my first convention, so I had to make due with horrible VHS dubs and my binders full of pixelated print outs I spent hours scanning from my friends collection because at that time I had no idea what the internet was used for lol! When it came down to which Sailor Scout to cosplay, being the "tall girl" in most cases (5'8"), I've always felt a strong connection to Sailor Jupiter. She's tough, but caring. Plus how awesome is her lightening?!
Easiest Task: Allowing my trusted friend, Lady Ava Cosplay to make this cosplay for me. ;D My time gets severely limited these days, and I'm not afraid to ask friends to help out once in a while if there's something I want to cosplay that I don't have the time to make myself. There's also nothing wrong with this, in my opinion. Especially if you give credit where credit is due. <3
Hardest Task: On my end... maybe the shoes. I bought shoes in a style I liked, and then painted them to match. Sounds easy, but there ended up being around 4 coats of paint and then sealing.
Notes for Super Sailor Jupiter:
The above information was from when this was just my Sailor Jupiter cosplay page. The changes I made to transform her into Super Sailor Jupiter were so minor that I didn't think it merited a whole new page/costume listing. New bows were made, I added the heart gem to the front bow, and a star to my choker... besides fixing up my wig a little those were the only changes. The photos on the very bottom are of my normal Sailor Jupiter cosplay, before all the upgrades.
